Intercourse Positions to Conceive a Boy

The way you make love may affect whether you conceive a boy or a girl. The reason has to do with the life span of male Y sperm versus female X sperm. Male sperm are faster than female sperm, but they live for a percentage of the time of the X’s. That means if the sperm have to travel a long distance to reach the egg, it’s likely only female sperm will live long enough to go the distance. In a short race, though, the faster boy sperm are most likely to “win.”

So, in order to increase your chances to conceive a boy, you want to shorten the distance the sperm have to travel. You can do that with deep penetration intercourse positions. The good ol’ missionary position is fine if the woman raises her pelvis by bringing her knees up to her chest or resting her legs on the man’s shoulders. Placing a pillow under the woman’s bottom will make that easier. Depending on your preferences, however, there are some other positions you might want to try.

When to Conceive a Boy

I wrote this useful article with the precise purpose of providing an answer – as comprehensive as possible – to the question that occurs to many of the couples who are trying to give birth to a baby boy: WHEN is the most suitable moment to get pregnant with a male offspring? In other words, what is the moment – or time interval – in which the chances of having a male baby are the highest?

Two Methods Which Answer the Question “When to Conceive a Boy?”

Unfortunately, the two best known timing strategies, Shettles and Whelan, contradict each other [1]. Moreover, the success rates of these techniques are neither scientifically proven, nor recognized by the majority of scientists and researchers. Therefore, we can say that none of these two timing methods is reliable.
  • the Calendar Method – aka Chinese Calendar Method, pretends that the likelihood of getting pregnant with a baby of an intended gender is determined by the Chinese lunar month (which differs from the common, Gregorian month) of conception and also by the Chinese lunar age of mother at conception. Being a legendary method of sex selection, founded on a mystical calendar from Ancient China, and also lacking any scientific or even statistical proof, this method is generally considered unreliable, being acceptable only for wasting time.

The Answers of These Two Types of Methods

The answer offered by the timing methods to the question dealt with in this article is that, in order to have a baby boy, the two partners (i.e., the two future parents) should schedule their sexual intercourse in relation to ovulation, as follows: [Read more…]
